The online market place is growing with 17% of total consumer spending taking place online. That might not sound like much until you consider that 80% of consumers search online before making a purchase even though they may go on to make it on a more traditional way.

A recent tool to be launched by Google is ‘insights’ using this tool you can discover what search terms are being used and equally important which are not.

So for example if you have decided that an important keyword for your hotel is ‘budget hotel’ you can now check how many searches are made for that phrase looking at different time periods or even countries. This great tool takes some of the guesswork out of optimisation. And it is even free....
